Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross, a set of 14 religious statues or wall plaques, depict 14 stages in the death of Jesus.

When performing the Stations of the Cross devotion, people generally spend a few moments comtemplating each image and performing a silent meditation or prayer. Some churches offer a group devotion, with a prayer spoken by the local priest before each image.

Here is one set of the Stations of the Cross displayed in the Saint Vincent's Church in Queensland, Australia. Because the photos were taken in the late afternoon, the ivory colored plaques have a yellow glow.
